Plans for the 2016 Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival and the Captain Cook 1770 Festival are well underway and Discovery Coast Tourism & Commerce Inc (DCTC) invites members, volunteers, businesses, sponsors and locals to a get-together on Tuesday, 10 November for an update on these local draw cards.
From 5pm on Tuesday, 10 November, guests can join in a novelty competition on the 1770 Golf Course driving range, purchase drinks from the clubhouse and enjoy free nibbles.
Then after sundown, DCTC will provide an update on the Agnes Blues Roots & Rock Festival to be held 19 – 21 February 2016, and the 24th Captain Cook 1770 Festival to be held 18 – 22 May 2016.
Newly appointed part time Discovery Coast event co-ordinator Carolyn Sandaver, pictured, will also be introduced as she has just started working on the Festivals and is keen to meet the locals involved in bringing these great events to fruition.
Carolyn has been a small business owner and operator for over five years, including at the Mareeba Lodge Motel, and she has a hands-on approach.
Carolyn is keen to contribute in the community and has been previously involved in Chambers of Commerce, local tourism organisations and other non profit community support groups.
Carolyn said, “I look forward to becoming a valued member of this community and am very happy to be actively involved in various organisations and events to support the economic betterment of the local community.”
So join in for this fun get-together, practice your golfing techniques, network and be updated on these two fantastic Festivals.
