25 Years of Education

Cutting the cake: On Wednesday, 18 November, Graham Wengel and Grant Rapley with principal Trevor Buchanan, (pictured), cut the 25 year cake at a special Agnes Water State School parade to mark the 25th anniversary of the school’s opening. Grant was a student in the first year that the school opened.

Graham is still a staff member at the school and was cleaner at the school when it first opened 25 years ago. At the parade, each class presented an item to be placed in a new time capsule, from class and sports photos, ideas of what they think the future will be like, memory sticks, samples of school work, what they like now so they can compare now to the future, letters to themselves, and ideas about what they want to be when they grow up.

Classes also mounted displays on the history of the Agnes Water area.

Watch for the Summer edition of Discovery Coast Style magazine, to be published in December, for more on the history of the school.
