Beach Clean Ups are Fun, last Sunday the Discovery Coast Environment Group headed to Deepwater National Park for their monthly beach clean up.
It was a massive success with a Discovery Coast Environment Group record collection of 33.9 kg of loose rubbish and an additional 42.2kg in tyres removed from the beach.
The group cleaned along Flat Rock, Middle Rock and Wreck Rock, and kids once again were out in full force, outnumbering the adults and enthusiastically taking part.
The 1770 Festival was also a huge success, raising over $500 for Sea Shepherd for their efforts in protecting our oceans.
Thank you again to all volunteers who helped both at the Festival and at the beach clean up.
A hashtag has been made, encouraging every one to share their collection efforts, at #beachcleanupsarefun
