Grand Sand Slam Golf Classic Beach Fun

Always the best fun anyone can have playing golf OR going to the beach, the Lions Club 2015 Grand Sand Slam Golf Classic went off with a blast on Sunday with 60 golfers heading over to Eurimbula Beach aboard the LARC…

Gathering storm clouds couldn’t dull the enthusiasm of the group as they played 9 holes of golf… all from the sand bunker… Winners on the day were the guys from Tide’n’Turn Boardriders, Alex Elgin, Tony Bonney and Clay Bellchambers, pictured above with Captain Cook Lions Club president, Steve Williams…

Winners of the newly created ‘Most Creative Scorer’ trophy in honour of the late Lindsay Evans, long time president of the Agnes Water/1770 RSL Sub Branch and supporter of the event since its inception was the Tottenham Terriors team of Frank, Beth, Ryan and Steff.

It was a colourful crowd of clowns, strong men and ringmasters who gathered at the 1770 Marina for the event with most golfers making the effort to dress in the theme of ‘Circus o’LARC’ . One team picked up a handy $100 for their great clown outfits.
