Australian music legend, Aria Hall of Fame inductee and #1 selling artist Russell Morris is set to headline at the 2016 Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival. Russell Morris will lead the jam-packed entertainment line-up on the stage in February, with audiences guaranteed to enjoy his unique collection of blues and roots music that pertains to some of the iconic characters, events and moments in our rich tapestry of Australian history. With critically acclaimed releases ‘Sharkmouth’ and ‘Van Diemen’s Land’, the recently released ‘Red Dirt – Red Heart’ is the final installment from his Blues & Roots Album Trilogy, which tells a story of the Australian interior – a great album to finish off a fantastic series. Van Diemen’s Land was nominated for Best Blues and Roots at the 2014 ARIA Awards, certified Gold sales and was the highest charting album of Russell’s 50 year career to date debuting at No.4 on the overall ARIA Charts. Festival goers will enjoy the 2016 line up which includes 8 Ball Aitken, Agnes Blue, Adam Hole Band, Kissing the Flint, Dr Trouble, Mason Rack Band and many more great artists to be announced over the coming weeks. But the fun doesn’t stop there; the 2016 #agnesbluesfest has a range of new and exciting food and market stalls, entertainment line-ups and artists offering music workshops throughout the weekend!
